This postcard view is of a classroom where my wife spent her formative years.

The three postcards in this series were provided by my wife, Chris. She attended this school from age 4 until her family emigrated from England to America when she was age 16. They left for America in 1954 and this postcard probably dates from that time.
This is a recent photo of her wearing her High School Blazer. The blazer was sold several years ago to a collector for display in a museum.

There is no indication of photographer or publisher of this postcard.

Card #7 in the quadruped series.

This advertising postcard is not a vintage card as it was published only a couple of years ago. The image is of Truman, mascot in a Santa Rosa photography store. Truman’s photo is posted here because of Evelyn Theriault’s Festival of Postcards. (see the link in the BLOGROLL) Evelyn’s topic for October is Quadrupeds – Truman has all four of his legs, so he qualifies to have his postcard posted here. The photo on the card is signed, the image is by Maria Villano.

This is postcard #6 in the Quadruped series!

This unused postcard is Titled, ROMA Campagna Romana, which the Google Translator says is in English, Roman Countryside. This card is part of the Quadruped series which features four legged critters. The topic was selected for the Festival of Postcard series of the same name (see link in blog roll below).
The image is of a unusual structure and many different quadrupeds as well as the associated farmers. The postcard was published by N.P.G. and has a card number, 1153.

Postcard #5 in the Quadrupeds series. This series of postcard is posted because of a ‘call for quadruped postcards’ by Evelyn Yvonne Theriault for her Festival of Postcards (link in Blogroll below). She is requesting postcards with quadrupeds of every sort for a series that will be posted in October.

This unused, vintage postcard is a scene in Naples, Italy. The title, Caprai also appears – I don’t know what to make of that.
Although the card is unused, it does have a name, L. Walker in pencil at the top of the card – perhaps the intended recipient.
The postcard is marked, Edit E. Ragozino, Gallieria Umberto-Napoli and it has a card number, 2679.

This is postcard #4 in the Quadruped series.

This vintage postcard is titled, “Scenes Et Types. – Marchande de Bois mort – LL”. My Google translator tells me the English translation of this French phrase is, Scenes and Types – Merchant of Deadwood. This is one of a series of postcards showing exotic locations and occupations and dress one would find there. The location is not given but given the dress of the man, I would suspect Africa, maybe French Morocco (?). The Deadwood in the title, would, I guess refer to firewood.
There is no publisher name supplied and of course, there is not date on the postcard. There is a card number, 6033 and perhaps the initials LL are of the photographer.
This series of postcard is about animals with four legs, quadrupeds.

Postcard #3 in the quadruped series.

This unused postcard is titled, A Maltese Milkman and is described as “a boy milking his goat in the street outside the house of his customer”.
The postcard is marked, Printed in England and it was published by Raphael Tuck & Sons. The card also has the mark ‘Oilette’ and ‘Wide Wide World’.
An additional mark is ‘Malta, Series I, postcard 7090′. There is no date shown on the postcard but the statement, “Art publisher to their Majesties the King & Queen” make its publication prior to the early 50s .

Postcard #2 in the Quadruped series.

This is a ‘real photographic postcard’, that is a photograph printed using photographic processes onto postcard stock.
The postmark date is 1926 and the card is written by Vivian MacQuiddy to her mother, Emma Englehart. The message on the postcard is, “We are spending a week here in the Giant Forest above Visalia. We have tents on the summer place of friends and do our cooking together in their little Kitchen. It is a marvelous country Last night we saw six baby bears. Love Vivian”.
There is no publisher or card number shown on this postcard.

This real photographic postcard is titled, A Prospector. Photograph is by Goodrich in Yreka, California. The jackass and dog look real, The man looks a little too dressed up to be a real prospector. I wonder if this person took the opportunity to stand by someone’s donkey or if the setup was a photographer’s prop.
A real photographic postcard is printed via photo processes onto photo paper. No printing press involved.
This is the first in a seven card series of postcards featuring quadrupeds. This is to celebrate an upcoming series on Festival of Postcards, a BLOG by Evelyn Theriault. Postcards of a specified subject are solicited from many sources and featured. The Festival of Postcards on Quadrupeds will take place in October.
